Most capable agent models live in someone else's data center. On October 19, Meta's research team published Muse Glimmer, an open 30-billion-parameter model designed to run agent tasks on consumer hardware instead.
According to Meta's paper abstract, the model combines multi-step reasoning, tool use and failure recovery in one model. It accepts text and images, was trained on data from more than a hundred languages, and is quantized to roughly 4-bit precision so it fits on a single GPU. Meta released it under the Apache 2.0 license.
Meta says Muse Glimmer leads its size class on agent benchmarks, comparing it with Gemma4-31B and Qwen3.6-27B. Those are Meta's own reported results. We have not tested the model.
